Event Description
The Office of Global Engagement is pleased to announce the 15th Annual Student Conference on Global Challenges: LIVE WELL. Due to tech and science and healthcare innovations we are all living longer – but are we living it well? What can we do to live “better” while living longer?
Some of the biggest global challenges that we face today, such as climate change, healthcare, security, justice & equity, access to food and clean water, education, and infrastructure must be approached with a lens for a diverse, intergenerational population. Drexel University became the first age-friendly university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2019 with the goal of reimagining the campus as a “community for life” and creating learning environments that disrupt ageism, embrace people of all ages, foster intergenerational connectivity, and innovate through age-related research from the cellular to the societal levels.
In celebration of these efforts, the 15th Annual Student Conference on Global Challenges will highlight the theme of “Live Well.” The conference gives undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to present research and engage in critical dialogue regarding what it means to age and develop across the world across disciplines.
