Abstract:
Quantum materials exhibit complex phenomena such as superconductivity, charge ordering, and spin ordering, driven by strong electronic correlations. Investigating the spatiotemporal evolution of these states is essential for understanding their underlying ordering mechanisms. Synchrotron-based x-ray techniques provide powerful tools for probing spatial and temporal correlations with elemental specificity. Among these, X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy (XPCS) uniquely enables the measurement of dynamical phases. This talk presents how XPCS measures the dynamics of electronic and magnetic order parameters with some examples from both classical and quantum systems. Finally, the connection between XPCS and dynamical susceptibilities and how it can quantify quantum entanglement in condensed matter systems will be discussed.
