Event Description
Join us for a discussion with Biomedical Engineering PhD alumna and Fellowships Ambassador Emily Lurier, currently a Scientist at Pandion Therapeutics. She will talk about her experiences as a PhD student, switching fields post-graduation, and what it’s like to work in a startup in the challenging economic environment. Ask Emily your own questions and gain some feedback and advice on preparing for post-graduation success.
More about Emily: Emily Lurier received her undergraduate degree in 2014 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University. At Drexel, Emily worked in Drexel's Biomaterials and Regenerative Medicine Laboratory focusing on designing a novel drug delivery system to control the inflammatory response to implanted biomaterials. In addition, she worked with leading experts in the heart valve tissue engineering field in the Netherlands with the support of a Fulbright U.S. Student Grant and Whitaker International Fellowship. Outside of research, Emily was a mentor in the Biomedical Summer Academy and a member of the Drexel Women in Science and Engineering. Now, Emily works in Boston at Pandion Therapeutics working in the Translational Sciences group to develop novel biomarkers for therapies targeting autoimmune diseases.
