Event Description

Learn about the Drexel Audio Archives and its work to preserve the Sigma Sound Studios collection, a historic collection of audiotapes documenting the legacy of Sigma Sound Studios and its pop, soul, disco, and R&B recordings that became known as “The Sound of Philadelphia.”

Professor Toby Seay will discuss the challenges and the importance of preserving audio recordings and share a few of his favorite tracks from the collection.
