Smashing the Stigma: Recognizing Signs of Depression & Finding Support (15 Wellness Points)*
Start Date: 7/28/2021Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 7/28/2021End Time: 1:00 PM
Event Description
Depression can be a scary and confusing word. What is the difference between depression and grief or sadness? Should I be concerned about a loved one who suffers from depression? Am I experiencing depression myself, and what do I do about it?

This seminar will aim to answer these questions and more. We will demystify depression by exploring common signs and symptoms, how to recognize them in yourself or other people, and how to find support. The seminar will provide an overview of evidence-based treatments for depression, covering various psychotherapeutic and pharmacological approaches.

Jennifer Schwartz, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist, teaching professor, and the Director of the Psychological Services Center (PSC) in the Department of Psychology at Drexel.
