Event Description This panel will discuss the implications of climate change for human health, with a focus on urban settings. Speakers will discuss topics including links between heat and mortality, impacts of urban design on climate vulnerability, city-wide adaptation strategies, and implications for health equity. Our speakers include: Dr. Jerry Fagliano who will give an overview of climate change and health in the urban setting; Josiah Kephart, who will discuss heat, vulnerability and mortality; Ione Avila-Palencia who will discuss climate change and urban design; and Leah Schinasi who will discuss city-wide adaptations to address greening and equity issues.
