About the Philadelphia Teacher Residency Program

The Philadelphia Teacher Residency teacher certification program is a 12-month mentorship program to prepare you to teach middle grades or secondary (high school) mathematics or science. The program consists of a 12-month blended learning program where students complete a combination of in-person and online classes that are required by the state for PA Instructional 1 teacher certification, while working in a Philadelphia classroom. Drexel works closely with mentor teachers to ensure they are providing a high-quality learning experience for students.

Students admitted to the fall cohort will receive a generous tuition scholarship that covers nearly their entire tuition. The remaining costs for the program is approximately $2,100 ($175 a month) for which financial aid is available. Students will also receive a $15,000 living stipend.
