Greensgrow was established in 1997 in Kensington as a hydroponic farm, it is recognized as a national leader in urban farming and works hard to improve food access throughout Philadelphia with its nonprofit programming; nutrition education, a community kitchen, SNAP share and mobile markets in underserved areas. Greensgrow will now be offering their CSA program and farmer’s market at the Dornsife Center every Saturday from 11am to 1pm from June 1 to November 3.The acronym “CSA” traditionally stands for Community Supported Agriculture; Greensgrow calls it City Supported Agriculture since they are in the heart of Philadelphia. CSA members pay for a seasonal share of top quality produce from local farm partners. In turn, this helps the farms assure their crops are sold. You become a part of our community and receive the benefits having more nutritious and delicious products!
