Can You Make Benzene Measurements Tell a Story About Justice?

We need a new metric.

Metrics tell a big story in a single number. The Air Quality Index (AQI) tells a story about how you can protect yourself from pollution: an AQI over 150 says stay inside. It doesn’t tell how people of color suffer more from poor air quality, or how to take collective action to dismantle environmental racism. Data4EJ is your chance to invent a metric that does.

  • Open to all Drexel students: Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to participate.
  • $2,000 prize pool: Distributed among top 3 teams.
