During the 2020-21 academic year, the Pennoni Honors College interdisciplinary course series, the Symposium, explored the theme of disaster. Faculty experts from across the fields of public health, design, geoscience, law, engineering, and history came together to co-teach classes that explored topics of disasters and equity, risk communication, concerns of privacy and security during pandemics, and problem-solving approaches to disaster, among many others. Inauspiciously, these courses were taught during the ongoing disaster of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

This panel is an opportunity to revisit some of those topics, and to offer reflection and insight on teaching about disaster during the time of a disaster.
