Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (9/15/2018 - 2/23/2019)

Throughout the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt program, students receive coaching and mentoring, both as part of the classroom group and individually, to maximize the student’s success. Upon completion of the class, project and a final exam, you become a certified Black Belt, able to address larger and more complex challenges.

Classes take place on Saturdays, 9 am - 4 pm.

The UHC Brown Bag Series provides an informal opportunity for the UHC to come together and for faculty, trainees, staff and others to discuss research questions, practice presentations, hold roundtable discussions or discuss works in progress. In getting together to discuss our work and projects, we encourage consistent collaboration and team building within the UHC.

Researchers at Drexel University are looking for volunteers to participate in a study investigating ways to prevent slip ups from an innovative weight loss plan based around times of day.

All intervention components will be provided to participants at no cost. If you are overweight, at least 21 years old, and able to receive text messages, you may be eligible.

Points for attending these events will be sent to Health Advocate on a monthly basis for the prior month’s activities. There will be a 6-week delay in these points and payouts being distributed. Exhibition from December 14, 2018 through March 15, 2019. By looking at materials under a microscope, scientists can understand how things work at very small scales and even at the atomic level. Sometimes, researchers see a scientific image that resembles a piece of art or has a beautiful feature. These images are often captured using electron microscopes and are in gray-scale. Scientists will then colorize the images using photo editing software to emphasize the unique features captured at the nanoscale. All of the images in this exhibition are from the A. J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute NanoArtography Competition (established in 2016 by Babak Anasori, PhD) an international competition which helps broaden the public’s understanding of the world at the atomic level and brings attention to Drexel’s groundbreaking materials science research.

This exhibition on NanoArtography is a partnership between the A.J. Drexel Nanomaterials Institute in the College of Engineering and The Drexel Collection. While this might seem an odd match, the exhibitions like these demonstrate how the collection can be a University-wide resource and the beautiful works created for the NanoArtography competition demonstrate how close art and science are as two pillars in a Drexel education.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, December 14th from 5:00PM – 7:00PM in the Anthony J. Drexel Picture Gallery and Rincliffe Gallery. The Gallery is free and open to the public.

University City Walking Club for Faculty and Professional Staff (1/1/2019)

Meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. in the Recreation Center Lobby; in the event of rain, these 30-minute walks will be held indoors.

Faculty and professional staff members can show their Drexel ID card at the Recreation Center welcome desk in order to be admitted to the indoor track.

Wednesday and Thursday walks are self-guided. Tuesdays are led by a walking club leader.

Study Abroad 101 sessions are for students who are interested in studying abroad, but have not yet selected a program or begun an application. This session will provide preliminary information about study abroad opportunities and logistics.
