This exhibition runs from September 12, 2025 through October 16, 2026. If These Walls Could Talk: An Invitation into the Home and Life of Anthony J. Drexel is an exhibition highlighting the family home of Anthony J. Drexel at his old 39th and Walnut property in the once Drexel Colony of West Philly. Using actual pieces found in his home, If These Walls Could Talk looks to transport its visitors into the heart of the 39th and Walnut residence, allowing them to envision what his home – and in tandem Anthony J. Drexel – was like.

This exhibition runs October 22, 2025 through October 16, 2026. The Drexel family has made their mark on society since Francis Martin Drexel first picked up a paint brush. This exhibition explores the contributions of the Drexel family from the 1820s to the 1930s, to honor the women and men who dare to build institutions and communities from the ground up.

This exhibition was curated by Gina Monahan, Museum Leadership '25.

The exhibition is free and open to the public by appointment, Monday - Friday, 10-4pm.

Drexel Public Safety welcomes donations to benefit families of our active-duty service members . Please donate products that are in boxes, cans or plastic bottles and do not require refrigeration. Products in glass are not accepted. All items should be recently purchased, in good condition and not expired. Non-perishable items needed are: Peanut butter, jelly, cooking oil, canned tuna or meat, canned fruit and vegetables, canned stew and soups, oatmeal/breakfast cereal, whole grain pasta, 100% juice, rice. Personal care items needed are: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap or body wash, feminine hygiene products, diapers, wipes. Additional items: Coloring books, crayons, activity books, notepads, etc.

This first display of the Library Exhibit Initiative features an assignment from PSY 101 General Psychology (Winter 2024-25). Prof. Eric Zillmer asked students to select a spot in the city that brings them happiness—and visit Philadelphia Revealed, an exhibition from the Atwater Kent Collection.

The Philadelphia Challenge presents students’ reflections on objects from this city history collection, interactive elements, and a Happiness Map display by the Happiness Lab at Drexel. The Library Exhibit Initiative will continue to feature students interacting with Drexel collections and archives.

Drexel’s Pearlstein Gallery is excited to announce its Fall 2025 Exhibition - Of the Grid: Systems + Structures in Contemporary Art – an exhibition featuring thirty six artists working in, around and outside of the box.

Incorporating photography, video, drawing, weaving, sculpture, embroidery, printmaking, painting, book arts, and interactive installation, the artists in the exhibition use the constraint of the grid as an integral part of their tactile practice – whether serving as a formal framework for experimentation, an indexical device to interrogate historical narratives, an organizational tool for intertextual mapping, or a conceptual means to flatten and expand space. This ambitious group show centers Philadelphia artists in dialogue with international contemporaries and historical context; the sprawling exhibition design will activate the floors, walls and windows of Drexel’s Pearlstein Gallery’s 3700 square feet of space.

Site specific work includes an ikea-hacked fountain of captialist critique by Jacob C Hammes, an optical color window installation by Anne Schaefer, a spatially puzzling inter-wall work by James Johnson, a suspended quilt of climate-based data visualization by Jody Graff, and a layered display of upcycled handwoven rugs by the mother and daughter duo, Hannah and Joyce Wallace. Curated by Mark Stockton and Cindy Stockton Moore.
