This exhibition runs from September 12, 2025 through October 16, 2026. If These Walls Could Talk: An Invitation into the Home and Life of Anthony J. Drexel is an exhibition highlighting the family home of Anthony J. Drexel at his old 39th and Walnut property in the once Drexel Colony of West Philly. Using actual pieces found in his home, If These Walls Could Talk looks to transport its visitors into the heart of the 39th and Walnut residence, allowing them to envision what his home – and in tandem Anthony J. Drexel – was like.

This exhibition runs October 22, 2025 through October 16, 2026. The Drexel family has made their mark on society since Francis Martin Drexel first picked up a paint brush. This exhibition explores the contributions of the Drexel family from the 1820s to the 1930s, to honor the women and men who dare to build institutions and communities from the ground up.

This exhibition was curated by Gina Monahan, Museum Leadership '25.

The exhibition is free and open to the public by appointment, Monday - Friday, 10-4pm.

Students living in a new city and attending college are susceptible to encountering dangerous situations. Being aware of your surroundings and recognizing situations that are potentially dangerous are key to keeping yourself safe. There are measures students can take to prevent themselves from being victims of a crime. Drexel's Department of Public Safety will provide tips to encourage students to think and act accordingly—not to be scared, but to be prepared.

Gabe Schwartz, PhD, assistant professor, Department of Health Management and Policy at Dornsife, will present "Addressing environmental health risks along the housing insecurity continuum."

Housing insecurity is increasingly recognized as a social determinant of health. Less well-studied is how housing insecurity shapes families' environmental exposures, or the best ways to mitigate those exposure risks through policy. In this talk, Prof. Schwartz will share research on efforts to mitigate environmental health risks at different points in the housing insecurity continuum: from tenants facing environmental health risks at home, to people experiencing homelessness facing environmental health risks outside and in emergency shelters.
