Responding to an open call in the community, the first Public Orchestra has been formed.

The Public Orchestra is inclusive of many varied musical practices and instruments in Philadelphia, not just the traditional Western musical practices normally associated with the term, "orchestra."

From the harp to french horns to to Philippine stings, come hear the sounds of the artists that make up Philadelphia.

About Rehearsing Philadelphia:
Created by Ari Benjamin Meyers and jointly produced and presented by the Curtis Institute of Music and Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, this large-scale public project explores how we can come together as a city through musical rehearsal.

The future will be rehearsed, not perfected. Rehearsing Philadelphia re-examines the rehearsal processes which allow people to act together and be empowered to create new realities.

Follow us on social media!

@rehearsingphiladelphia
