Networking in the Age of Technology: Practical Tips for Meaningful Professional Relationships

Event Description
There are three misalignments in building meaningful connections in your organizations that account for most dysfunction. None of them show up clearly on a culture survey. All three of them are diagnosable, if you know what to look for.

• Misalignment 1: What the leader says vs. what the culture actually rewards. Leaders communicate values. Organizations reward behaviors. When those two things are different, the culture always follows the reward — not the rhetoric.

• Misalignment 2: What the team believes vs. what the leader actually intends. Communication gaps at the senior level compound quickly. What a leader thinks is clear direction, the team often receives as ambiguous expectation.

• Misalignment 3: What the organization needs vs. what it’s currently investing in. Time, money, and attention reveal real priorities — and real priorities often contradict stated ones.

Identifying which misalignment is active is the diagnostic step most organizations skip entirely that help build meaningful relationships in your career. They move straight from symptom to solution — and then wonder why the problem returns.
