Grantsmanship Training in Collaborative Team-Based Research
Start Date: 1/16/2019Start Time: 10:00 AM
End Date: 1/16/2019End Time: 12:00 PM

Event Description
The Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Research is pleased to offer the following grantsmanship training workshop and webinar opportunity for our faculty. We are offering this training through our partnership with Hanover Research. Please feel free to share with your colleagues. Collaborative Team-Based Research Research is increasingly being performed by teams of investigators. Team-based research can be extremely rewarding if undertaken thoughtfully and developed with care. In part I of this presentation, Hanover will present several best practices for why, how, and when to collaborate. In part II, we will discuss how to avoid and address the many potential challenges of team-based research. The training will be delivered by Hanover Grants Consultant, Dr. Steven Jax. Steven has experience in grant writing and proposal review for the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, U.K. Medical Research Council, and a number of private foundations. Prior to joining Hanover, Steven served as a research scientist for 14 years at a medical center research institute, working in the field of neurorehabilitation. During this time he obtained funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and a private foundation. In addition, Steven worked with several interdisciplinary teams (including engineers, physical therapists, neurologists, and computer scientists) to develop funded grants from the National Institutes of Health.

You may join the training live in-person or via Zoom. Registration is required no later than December 21, 2018.
