Event Description
The holidays are a notoriously tough time to avoid putting on extra pounds. A Healthier U and the Drexel Recreation Center are here to help with “Maintain Don’t Gain,” a six-week health improvement challenge program that encourages employees to maintain or lose weight through nutrition and fitness.
Each participant will weigh in at the beginning of the program in late November and weigh out at the end, after the New Year. Weigh-ins are available on the University City Campus and the Center City Campus.
Laura Sherbondy, the Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness for Drexel Recreational Athletics, will conduct the weigh-ins and track each participant’s weight on the University City campus at the beginning and again at the conclusion of the program. Laura will also be available to answer any questions that arise during the initial or final weigh-ins.
Initial weigh-ins will be conducted in a private room at the Recreation Center (33rd and Market Streets) the week before Thanksgiving on Monday November 19th and Tuesday November 20th from 11:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-6:00pm.
Tell the Welcome Center Desk Staff that you want to participate in Maintain Don’t Gain and they will direct you to the private weigh-in area (room 309-A, the Health, Fitness, & Wellness Office). Or simply stop by room 309-A during the above hours.
Center City Weigh-ins will occur Monday November 19th and Tuesday November 20th from 11:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-6:00pm on the 2nd floor of 1601 Cherry Street at Parkway Health and Wellness. Contact 215-553-7012 (Samantha Naclerio) for more information.
A follow-up weigh-out will be conducted by Laura at the Drexel Recreation Center on Monday January 7th and Tuesday January 8th from 11:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-6:00pm.
Center City Weigh-outs will occur Monday January 7th and Tuesday January 8th from 11:00am-1:00pm and 4:00-6:00pm on the 2nd floor of 1601 Cherry Street at Parkway Health and Wellness. Contact 215-553-7012 (Samantha Naclerio) for more information about Center City weigh-ins.
Participants who remain within 2 pounds of their starting weight will receive A Healthier U promotional item as an incentive. Get some hands-on help to keep maintaining your health! Maintain Don’t Gain is open to all Drexel University faculty and professional staff.
Participants in our 2019 Wellness Incentive Program are eligible to earn 15 points (a $15 credit) for weighing in during the month of November and weighing back out in January 2019.
You must register for the 2019 program AND complete your 2019 Personal Health Profile before you will be eligible to receive any payouts.
