An Insider's Perspective: Developing Health Policy at the White House

Event Description

Richard Toner, director of reimbursement at Temple University Health System in Philadelphia, served from 2009 through 2015 as a senior analyst in the White House Budget Office. Toner will discuss the process of overseeing federal health care programs including Medicare and Medicaid as well as regulation of private insurance markets. He will explain how health policy, budget and legal decisions get made at the highest levels of the federal government.

The lecture will be followed by a reception to celebrate a decade of health law at the Kline School of Law on the 3rd Floor Gallery.
