Event Description
Bad hombres and intellectual property thieves, extreme vetting and jumping the line. Heated rhetoric about immigrants and immigration—including migrant workers, international students, religious immigrants and asylum seekers—is intense and omnipresent. How does this language shape the perceptions we have and positions we take? How does it affect our international students, faculty, professional staff and community members?
The next meeting of the Forum for Inclusive Culture (iForum) will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 3:30 p.m. at the James E. Marks Intercultural Center (3225 Arch Street). This event is being co-sponsored by the Lindy Center, the Office of Equality and Diversity, International Student and Scholar Services, and the Department of Global Studies and Modern Languages. Some sweet treats will be provided. Email jkrohn@drexel.edu to RSVP, provide feedback on the discussion topic, and/or suggest additional agenda items.
About the iForum: The iForum is an open-membership coalition of students, faculty, professional staff and community members that gathers no less than quarterly to address issues of diversity and inclusion affecting the Drexel community. Meetings typically begin with announcements, have a central discussion topic, and close out with suggestions, determination of next steps, and troubleshooting. All are welcome to come and participate, and we value newcomers who keep the group fresh and responsive to developments on campus. Join us! |
