Our events are designed to inspire high school women towards
careers in computing and information sciences through practical activities and
talks that ignite a life-long passion for STEM education and careers.
Adventures in coding, ethical hacking and other future-facing fun await you,
all led by Drexel CCI students, award-winning faculty role models and industry
partners committed to diversity and inclusion. This workshop will feature a
hands-on session, led by CCI’s own Dr. Thomas Heverin, focused on the ethics of
cybersecurity, the widespread lack of protection on devices, and the importance
of keeping your own devices secure. It will also feature a talk from an
FBI special agent about the importance of women in computing and her
experiences in both the area and the FBI. Finally, we will lead an
activity using some coding and programming techniques that all levels of
computing experience will enjoy.
Lunch will be provided for this event.
