Event Description Cindy Leung, ScD, MPH, a nutrition epidemiologist in the Center for Health and Community in the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine will be presenting on “Food for Thought: Diet and Health Disparities in Vulnerable Populations” at this Community Health and Prevention seminar. Dr. Leung’s current research, supported by an NIH Career Development Award, focuses on the influence of household food insecurity on weight gain through mechanisms of psychological distress and cognitive decision-making processes. Another theme of Dr. Leung’s research is using specific evidence to strengthen the nutritional impact of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. |
