Event Description Fashion Design alum Alisha Lawrence ('14), will address students and discuss her path toward a career in costume design.
Alisha’s unique path led her to a Theatre Costume internship, a Master’s in Law, Justice, & Culture, and eventually landed her the opportunity of a lifetime in the film industry. Alisha moved to Atlanta in 2019 to pursue her dreams of becoming a Costume Designer for TV & Film. She worked as a Costume Production Assistant for TV and through a Facebook post, was asked to PA for her first film project – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Through her time working on the blockbuster Marvel film, Alisha worked hard and proved her knowledge and talents to her career idol Oscar-winning Costume Designer, Ruth E. Carter, eventually being hired to become her assistant. Alisha is still currently working as Carter’s assistant and as a union Costumer for Marvel’s Blade. |
