Event Description
Daniel López-Cevallos, PhD, MPH, Associate Professor of Health Equity in
the Department of Health Promotion and Policy at the University of
Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences, will
present an overview of recent public health survey modernization efforts in
Oregon, focused on the Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance Survey and the
Student Health Survey (formerly Oregon Healthy Teens).
He will discuss how the
project engaged historically marginalized communities (e.g., Latinx), and share
lessons and recommendations towards more community-centered population health
surveillance systems.
