Event Description
To celebrate Women’s History Month, the Center for Law, Policy, & Social Action is joined by DiveIn and If/When/How in screening the documentary She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry.
The film chronicles the second wave women’s liberation movement, from the founding of NOW to the emergence of radical groups. It explores how the movement grappled with racism, classism, and sexual identity as it confronted how issues such as access to contraception and abortion, intimate violence, employment discrimination, and cultural attitudes shaped women’s lives. Please join us for this funny, infuriating, insightful, and still all-too-relevant reflection on sex, gender, and feminism in the US. |
