Communicating Science to the Public: The Vaccine-Autism Story

Event Description

During the past two decades, dozens of studies have shown that vaccines don't cause autism. Yet, for many parents, the fear persists. Why? We'll discuss the cultural forces that try to defeat science and what to do about it.

Speaker: Paul Offit, MD, director of the Vaccine Education Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Maurice R. Hilleman Professor of Vaccinology, and professor of pediatrics, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania
