Event Description
On March 8th, Comcast SportsNet (CSN) Philadelphia and Drexel Sport Management will host a Women in Sport symposium featuring the screening of the documentary TOMBOY in Gerri C. LeBow Hall, Room 031. TOMBOY is CSN’s multiplatform documentary project about gender in sports as told through the voices of many of the world’s most prominent female athletes, broadcasters and sports executives. Following the screening, CSN on-air talent will facilitate a panel discussion with the area’s leading women’s sports advocates including (as of Feb. 15):
- Deborah Slaner Larkin, Chief of Advocacy, Women’s Sports Foundation
- Benjamin M. Braslow, M.D, Traumatology, Surgical Critical Care & Emergency Surgery, Penn Medicine
- Tina Sloan Green, Professor Emerita, Temple University; Hall of Fame Women’s Lacrosse Coach & Co-Founder Black Women in Sport Foundation
- Sommer Hammoud, M.D., Assistant Professor, Orthopedic Surgery, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
- Lara Price, Sr. Vice President, Philadelphia 76ers
