Event Description
Most will agree that creating an environment in which remote attendees can fully engage and interact with others in the room presents challenges. There are many virtual meeting tools available but most only allow remote attendees to be little more than a ‘fly on the wall’ rather than a ‘person in the room’, providing limited opportunities to fully engage with others.
Kubi is a mini robot that provides an opportunity for remote attendees to have a ‘physical’ presence in the room and consequently can increase active engagement. The unique advantage of Kubi is that it lets remote attendees easily look around with 300 degrees of pan and 90 degrees of tilt to see and interact with others through remote robotic control during a video call—not having to rely on the host of the meeting to move the camera. The motion of Kubi combined with high quality video provides increased telepresence, meaning greater engagement during meetings, seminars, case rounds, tutoring and more. This session will present attendees with an introduction to this technology and how it can be used.
