Facing Challenges with Confidence: How Mindfulness Can Cultivate Health & Wellbeing in Everyday Life
Start Date: 4/18/2018Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 4/18/2018End Time: 1:00 PM

Event Description

It’s easy to feel like our lives are passing us by. When we’re continually busy, we often miss the most sacred and tender moments that unfold before us, at home and even at work. It’s easy to push past your emotions or to get stuck in a certain level of performance and speed. Being busy isn’t always a problem, but being busy all the time and not knowing how to take time out for yourself, your family, your friends, and colleagues can leave you feeling depleted and overwhelmed, rather than living a life that you love.

This session will help you explore how to slow down at home and at work, and how to engage with life more fully so that you can enjoy your life, regardless of what challenges life offers up.

Join us on April 18 as we explore the powerful potential of mindfulness to help us cultivate meaning, purpose and joy in our own lives and in our Drexel University community. Michael Carroll, author of Awake at Work, The Mindful Leader, and other influential books on bringing mindfulness to the workplace, will lead each session.

This event is part of a day-long series of events. You are welcome to attend one or multiple sessions, as your schedule allows. All events will be held in Behrakis Grand Hall, Creese Student Center, at 32nd and Chestnut streets, and will be simultaneously webcast. Please visit this website at the time of the event to view the live webcast: http://drexel.edu/hr/career/engaging-u/mindfulness/

Faculty and staff are asked to register through Career Pathway to attend either in person or by webcast. Students do not need to RSVP in order to attend.

This event will be followed by a book signing and meet and greet with Michael Carroll from 1-1:30 p.m.
