Event Description
Sleep Your Way to Better
Health
Did you know that
sufficient sleep is just as important to your health and well-being as healthy
eating and exercise? As you sleep, your body restores itself for the next day
through tissue, cell and muscle repair, recharging your brain, and releasing important
hormones. Additionally, the quantity and quality of sleep is helpful for your
physical, mental and emotional health.
For the next four weeks,
our “Sleep Well Challenge” will encourage you to sleep for the recommended 7-9
hours per night. Naps don’t count towards your sleep in this challenge. We’re
looking for 7-9 consecutive hours of rest!
Register Today and Start
in May
Registration for the
Sleep Well Challenge opens April 23 via the Wellness
Incentive Program portal. To register, log in at healthadvocate.com/drexel. Click
on “Sleep Well” from your “To Do” list, then click “Join.”
Your next step is to log
your daily sleep hours and minutes once the challenge is
underway. Log your daily sleep by adding your hours/minutes directly
through the Sleep Well Challenge page, or through your Sleep Tracker on the
Health Trackers section of your portal. Be sure to click “Save All” after
entering in your time.
The challenge begins May
7 and will run through June 3. If you forget to register, you have until May 14
to join this challenge. You can then back date your hours of sleep starting
with May 7.
You must log your minutes
and hours of daily sleep every single week for the duration of the challenge in
order to earn 25 wellness incentive points for completing the challenge.
Who Is Eligible for This
Opportunity?
The Wellness
Incentive Program, and the Sleep Well Challenge, are available to all full-time
and part-time benefit-eligible faculty and professional staff. Along with
having access to this program, employees enrolled in a Drexel medical plan, or
full-time employees who participate in the opt-out waiver, will be eligible to
earn up to 400 points (a $400 premium credit) by completing wellness activities
between January 1-November 30, 2018.
Visit the HR website for a complete list of wellness
activities for which you can earn points.
Don’t Forget to Complete
Your 2018 Personal Health Profile
Please note that you
must complete your 2018 Personal Health Profile (PHP) in order to receive
credits in your paycheck. You will not earn any medical premium credits until
the month after you complete your PHP, which is a required step in our program.
Knowing your numbers helps you understand your health risks. For those who
participated last year, the Wellness Incentive Program allows you to compare
your 2017 PHP data to your 2018 PHP data, providing an easy snapshot of your
overall health.
