Event Description
The Center for Law, Policy, and Social Action at the Kline School of Law will host a discussion featuring Sayu Bjowjwani, the author of “People Like Us: The New Wave of Candidates Knocking at Democracy's Door.”
Bhojwani is the founder and president of New American Leaders, a national organization focused on preparing immigrant leaders to run for public office at local and state levels. She served as New York City's first commissioner of immigrant affairs.
Her book was published in 2018 by The New Press.
