Learning Objectives:
- To describe the current science behind the medical issues of women after meno-
pause and the prescription of hormone therapy for symptoms of menopause.
- To review concentrated insulins and their role in managing insulin resistant
type 2 diabetes.
- To recognize the signs and symptoms of PCOS and to discuss the latest
updates in the management of PCOS.
- To discuss the gender-based differences commonly seen in gastrointestinal
disorders and liver diseases.
- To outline the current FDA guidelines for the labeling of sunscreens, to identify the signs of skin cancer and be able to describe noninvasive anti-aging interventions.
- To describe the workup for pelvic organ prolapse and when to refer to a specialist.
- To discuss the workup, diagnosis and management of breast lumps.
