Event Description Dr. J. Richard Weggel, P.E., D.CE Professor Emeritus, Drexel University Civil, Architectural & Environmental Engineering
Reminiscences: Drexel 50 Years Ago and Some Recent Research
Dr. Weggel will describe what the Drexel Institute of Technology was like when he was an undergraduate between 1959 and 1964: the campus, the administration, the curriculum, the faculty and the students of the civil engineering class of 1964.
He will also discuss several of his recent research papers in the areas of hydrology, geotextiles and porous media flow, specifically, a study of Delaware River floods, tests of hanging bags to evaluate geotextile tubes for slurry dewatering, and transport of a viscous colloidal suspension through a porous medium.
This annual lecture is made possible by the generosity of Wesley O. Pipes and Jane Pipes. |
