Event Description The annual Civil Engineering Alumni Lecture will host Dr. J. Richard Weggel, P.E., D.CE to speak about the Drexel Institute of Technology during his time as an undergraduate student between 1959 and 1964. He will discuss the campus, administration, curriculum, faculty and the students of the civil engineering class of 1964. He will also discuss several of his recent research papers in the areas of hydrology, geotextiles and porous media flow, specifically, a study of Delaware River floods, tests of hanging bags to evaluate geotextile tubes for slurry dewatering, and transport of a viscous colloidal suspension through a porous medium.
