Event Description The Drexel Writing Center and the Steinbright Career Development Center present “Writing in Action: How to Write Professional Emails.” Many companies incorporate IM and texting for short, informal messaging, so email has become the main venue for formal written communication in the workplace. Yet many of us treat email informally, with serious consequences for our professional identities – and careers.
This workshop goes well beyond spelling, grammar and syntax. We’ll use the common email as a way to discuss key strategies for creating meaningful, smart, professional communications, focusing on areas such as identifying your audience, writing clarity, attention to tone (and recognizing when your words could be misinterpreted!), organization, and the importance of specific content.
Reservations are not required. For more information, contact the Steinbright Career Development Center. |
