Don’t miss Philadelphia’s fashion event of the year!
If you’ve never made it to the annual fashion week runway shows in New York, Paris or London, here is your chance to see the equally impressive collections of Drexel’s Fashion Design graduating seniors and master’s students.
Staged at the Urban Outfitters fabulous corporate headquarters at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, professional models will grace the runway wearing the collections of our 33 Fashion Design seniors and graduate students. Many of the world’s top designers began their careers shortly after graduating from top fashion design programs. Drexel’s Fashion Program is ranked 4th in the U.S. and 16th in the world and this is your opportunity to see our top designers’ creative work before they move on to jobs in the fashion industry.
Drexel’s annual fashion show features a full runway with production values that The Philadelphia Inquirer has called the best university fashion show in the City. All aspects of the show including the show’s production, the dressing of the models, and the creation of the full-color D&M magazine are handled by students from the Design & Merchandising program. If you’ve ever wanted to sit along the runway during fashion week, then please make plans to see Drexel’s annual fashion show.
The show features evening wear, sportswear, swimwear, men’s wear, children’s wear, lingerie and more. Student work is drawn from a spectrum of influences and this year’s show features work inspired by medieval armor, the life of Marilyn Monroe, The Carnival of Venice, shattered glass, urban explorers, steam punk, skiwear, and human anatomy. Several students have created designs with hand made fabrics, digital prints and eco-friendly materials.
Tickets are $30 for the 4 p.m. show and $50 for the 8 p.m. show and reception that follows. Free parking is included in the ticket prices. Tickets are available at www.drexel.edu/westphal or purchase your tickets in-person in the lobby of Nesbitt Hall from 12 – 2 p.m., through Friday.
