Event Description
Spend a Summer Friday morning exploring the secretive (and sometimes sordid) world of 19th century medical schools. Drexel University College of Medicine represents the legacies of two historic medical schools: Hahnemann Medical College, the nation’s first homeopathic medical school, and the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania, the nation’s first all-female degree-granting medical school.
This event includes a walk-and-talk through Philadelphia’s rich medical history captured throughout the Queen Lane building — focusing on the crossover between anatomy and photography and featuring newly revealed anatomical preparations and wax models, as well as unbelievable documents and artifacts from the Legacy Center Archives. Bring your own experience and knowledge of Drexel Med teaching, life and history — recent or long-past!
Kindly RSVP for this free event.
