Virtual Session
Join the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) on Thursday, August 20, 2020, from 1 to 2 p.m. ET for a virtual viewing event featuring the finalists' presentations in the 2020 Ignite Off competition! In the Ignite Off, interns from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Argonne National Laboratory and the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) developed and delivered Ignite Talks to describe their research projects. Ignite Talks are five-minute presentations in which the speaker uses 20 picture-centric slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. Contestants had access to an ORISE e-learning course that teaches the process for developing an Ignite Talk. Six finalists — two each from ORNL, Argonne and NETL — were selected, and videos of their presentations will be shown during the viewing event. A national panel of judges will determine the overall winner of the Ignite Off, who will receive a $300 prize. Please register in advance for the viewing event here: https://www.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_fMUndWUnTbqrS_NG9XthVg. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. If you have any questions, please contact Ignite-Off@orau.org.
