Event Description
Join us for an engaging and interactive event with Dr. Veronica Carey, Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Associate Clinical Professor within the Behavioral Health Counseling Department at Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions; and the author of Frame Your Degree: How to Avoid Pain While Seeking a College Degree.
Students: Come so you can ask questions about your higher education journey. Dr. Carey, sees you, hears you, and was you!
Faculty: Come to know the painful moments students endure in order to earn a degree.
During the event, both groups will hear strategies to reduce painful moments in college. All attendees will leave knowing they are not alone, but instead are in good company enduring many of the same things. Dr. Carey will offer practical advice on overcoming the challenges of university life, celebrating diversity and majority, and embracing one's unique identity in the academic world. Attendees will participate in experiential exercises designed to bring the book's principles to life and learn how to apply them to their own academic journeys.
This session promises empowering insights, inspiring stories, and practical strategies to help you succeed and thrive in higher education and beyond.
The event will include a book raffle, giveaways, and book signing with Dr. Carey. Copies of Frame Your Degree will also be available for purchase. Here is your chance to sit with an author, ask questions, and walk away knowing you used your time wisely -- don’t miss this chance to gain valuable strategies for a successful college experience!
