End Date: 3/14/2023End Time: 5:00 PM

Event Description

The College of Computing & Informatics (CCI), the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Council, Doctoral Students Association (DSA), along with Drexel Women in Computing Society (WiCS) are proud to host a special International Women’s Day (IWD) inspired conversation with Angela V. Harris.

This event will focus on the themes of Embracing Equity and the State of Women in Tech. The conversation will be hosted by CCI Associate Professor Michelle Rogers, PhD, who is a leader at Drexel on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion with a particular focus on women in technology. Joining Dr. Rogers is alumna Angela V. Harris, a collaborative leadership coach, technology leader and philanthropist with more than 20 years of business experience in Fortune 500 companies.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. IWD 2023's campaign theme aims to get the world talking about why "equal opportunities are no longer enough,” and to #EmbraceEquity by understanding and educating others on the difference between equality and equity and why it’s important. In this talk, Drexel alumna Angela V. Harris will share her insights on the state of Women in Tech and how to empower yourself for longevity in your career. There will be a Q&A segment in this session, so get your questions ready!

This free event is open to the Drexel community.
