This week, Jessica Dixon Weaver is visiting the Drexel Kline community as the CLPSA 2024 Spring Scholar in Residence in partnership with the Drexel Kline Intellectual Life Committee and DiveIN.
Professor Dixon Weaver is a nationally recognized family law and children’s rights scholar-advocate whose path-breaking work interrogates how racial slavery and race shape the construction of family as well as associated experiences and rights.
On Thursday, April 4th, during Professor Pam Quinn’s Family Law class (Room 340, 10:35-noon), Professor Dixon Weaver will guest lecture featuring her work-in-progress: Uncovering Race in Family Law. All law students are invited to attend.
At 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 4th, in Room 140, we will have a Faculty Workshop where Professor Dixon Weaver will present Uncovering Race in Family Law and also discuss her forthcoming book project: Slavery and the Origins of Family Law. Please see your email for details. |
