Event Description Citizens and urban planners unite in "Urban Strategy in the Present Tense," a year-long speaker series dedicated to the local roots of civic innovation. From reinventing playgrounds, civic design, pedestrian mobility, fair housing, and green urban planning, this series brings together local public, private, and community leaders to discuss strategies for building a stronger, more just, and resilient city.
Join us as we discuss and reflect on transportation for Philadelphia's growth.
We'll be joined by Michael A. Carroll, P.E., the Deputy Managing Director for the Office of Transportation and Infrastructure Systems (oTIS) in Philadelphia.
Carroll is a nationally respected leader with over 25 years of experience in transpiration. He leads oTIS in developing strategies and implementing policies to build safe and equitable multi-modal systems across Philadelphia's diverse neighborhoods, coordinating with internal city departments, external agencies, and policymakers at all levels. He has a background in urban and regional planning and transportation engineering.
Deputy Carroll will offer his reflections on a range of issues and strategies related to transportation systems in Philadelphia and beyond.
The series is produced by the Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation at Drexel University in partnership with the Urban Strategy Masters Program in Drexel's Westphal College of Media, Arts & Design. Andrew Zitcer hosts the webinar and Thomas Devaney produces the series with production director Hazel Dequito.
