Event Description

The Department of Health Management and Policy welcomes Patrick Bernet, PhD, Associate Professor at the Florida Atlantic University, for an invited speaker talk.

Description: If your county received an extra $1 million for public health, would you know how to invest it to have the largest impact on the health of the entire county? Which programs: maternal and child health, nutrition education, vaccination? Which neighborhoods? What times; current outcomes or future outcomes? Community health depends not just on the level of public health funding, but on how those funds are divided. Bad allocation decisions mean fewer lives saved, lower quality of life and larger disparities.
