Event Description
Predictors of Third Grade Learning Outcomes for Low-Socioeconomic Children Living in Urban Neighborhoods

Concentrated pockets of under-resourced neighborhoods and schools are prevalent in urban areas. This can have cumulative adverse effects on childhood physical growth, cognitive and social emotional development, and academic learning. In this presentation, Dominic Gullo, PhD, Professor for Drexel University's School of Education, shares research from his study that "used to pattern predictive associations between family social capital at the end of kindergarten and low-SES urban children’s third-grade learning outcomes."
