Event Description
In lecture, Prof. Alphonso McClendon, author of Fashion and Jazz, will trace Bessie Smith’s steps from Christian Street to Ridge Ave told through her dress, performance and lifestyle. This event is in association with the exhibition Venus and Diana: Fashioning the Jazz Age presented by Drexel’s Robert and Penny Fox Historic Costume Collection at the Westphal College of Media Arts and Design.
