Ensuring Restorative Justice and Equity in the Cannabis Industry ft. Shaleen Title

Event Description

Speaker Shaleen Title is an attorney and drug policy activist who has been writing, passing, and implementing equitable cannabis laws for over 20 years.

Title was a top cannabis regulator in Massachusetts from 2017-2020 and currently serves as CEO of Parabola Center, a think tank creating drug policy for people not corporations.

She has published papers on social equity and anti-monopoly cannabis policy and testified before governmental bodies around the world about reparative marijuana laws.

The recipient of multiple lifetime achievement awards and a rising star award that dubbed her “the people’s weed watchdog,” she was named to Boston’s 40 Under 40 List in 2021.

She holds a business degree, law degree, and graduate degree in accounting from University of Illinois.

Title will be speaking on the main issues regarding social justice and equity in the cannabis industry with examples of unfairness, as well as the lessons learned from her time as a top cannabis regulator in Massachusetts.
