Suicide Warning Signs (15 Wellness Points)*

Event Description
In this talk we will shed light on the critical issue of suicide awareness and prevention, focusing on warning signs common in adults while also addressing unique topics relevant to adolescents and younger children. We will delve into the multifaceted nature of risk of self-harm, exploring both environmental and personal risk factors. We will also highlight protective factors that can mitigate suicide risk, emphasizing their importance in preventative strategies. By the end of this webinar, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the warning signs for self-harm across age groups, empowering them with knowledge to recognize and understand individuals at risk.

Hannah Grosman is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology working under the mentorship of Dr. Nancy Raitano Lee in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Drexel University. She received her BA in Psychology and Linguistics from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She aspires to be a pediatric neuropsychologist in her future career, maintaining both clinical and research activities. Her research interests include investigating cognitive profiles in youth with developmental differences using novel approaches and she currently maintains two clinical externship roles at CHOP. When not in the lab or at the hospital, Hannah enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time outside.

Claire Trainor is a doctoral candidate at Drexel University working under the mentorship of Stephanie Manasse, PhD and Adrienne Juarascio, PhD. She completed her BA in Psychology and English at DePaul University in 2018. After graduating, Claire worked as a research coordinator at the University of California, San Francisco Eating Disorders Program where she coordinated a treatment trial for adolescents with anorexia and the clinic's research program. Claire's clinical practice and research centers on family-based interventions for youth with complex presentations, including eating disorders, depression, severe OCD, self-harm, and suicidality.

Registration is required in Career Pathway. The Zoom link for this webinar will be shared in the email you receive when you register. As long as you are signed into Zoom when you attend (you can confirm that you are signed in by checking that your name appears in the Zoom participants list) you will be marked as having attended and you will receive wellness points six weeks after attending. You will receive a completion email from Career Pathway after attendance for this event has been completed.


*Participants in our Wellness Incentive Program are eligible to earn 15 points (a $15 credit) for attending this event. You must sign-in to receive credit.
