Presented by the Office of Equality and Diversity in partnership with the Drexel Autism Support Program
Affiliates: A.J. Drexel Autism Institute, Human Resources, Office of Institutional Advancement, and the School of Education
In this panel discussion, we will address the increasing familiarity with the term “neurodiversity” through a conversation grounded in the experiences of neurodivergent students, faculty, and professional staff members in the Drexel community. In addition to learning from the experiences of our panelists, we will also explore the definition and meaning of neurodiversity.
The event will include a brief overview defining key terms, specifying the neurodiversity movement and myths surrounding neurodiversity. This will be followed by the panel discussion framed around personal experiences of neurodivergent members of the Drexel Community. Strategies, resources, and ways to get involved will be provided.
Amy Edwards, EdD, Director of the Drexel Autism Support Program, will kick off the discussion, and Paul Apicella, JD, Assistant Vice President and Title IX Coordinator will wrap up the conversation by 12 pm.
