Event Description
"FDR Park Plan with Allison Schapker from the Fairmount Park Conservancy"
Allison Schapker
brings more than 15 years of national experience with mission-driven organizations to her role as Chief Projects Officer with Fairmount Park Conservancy. Trained as an architect and landscape architect, Allison works to build resilience in Philadelphia’s public spaces that inspire investment and maximize impact. Whether building a six-acre waterfront park or conserving 1,600 acres of Appalachian forest, she works to connect infrastructure, ecology and design with the people, programs, and finances that will sustain them.
In 2018, Allison joined the Fairmount Park Conservancy to lead the FDR Park Plan. Through this two year planning process, the team used projections of sea level rise and development to test planning scenario.. The Plan aligns human and natural systems to deliver a vision for the 348acre site that serves the City into the 21st century. To-date the Plan has attracted over $90M in commitments from public and private sources. The first phase of construction will be delivered in 2023.
