Event Description
Arranged
as part of a collaboration between the Westphal Film & Television program,
Black Westphal and DU Bass, this film screening program seeks to establish a conversation for
BIPOC people using film to tell their stories. We aim to empower and educate
students with the knowledge necessary to unpack what they see and challenge the
often-negative representation of BIPOC in the media.
This
Film Series is expected to take place over the course of several months
encompassing a total of 4 films as part of the 1st series. The first
event is scheduled to take place during the last week of February, the 25th
on Thursday night at 6:30 PM and go until about 9PM. The even would be
replicated on Thursdays once a month moving forward through the end of the
2020-2021 academic year.
The
Uncomfortable Truth (Run Time 1hr 25min) will screen on February 25, 2021 at 6:30 PM. If you are interested in attending, please contact Karla Roberts at kr867@drexel.edu.
This virtual event will be held on the platform Kanopy, which can be accessed as a Philadelphia Library card holder. The process of becoming a library card holder is free and can be completed online (instructions for
