Event Description
Resisting through our bodies
April 6, 2021 at 4pm-5pm ET
Via Live Webcast

This will be a conversation intended to raise awareness and build embodied capacity for addressing microaggressions across settings (i.e. in classrooms, work, etc.). Understanding that microaggressions are lived and felt embodied experiences, we are called, as mental health practitioners to address the embodied impact that these grievances have upon socially marginalized bodies.    In a very familiar and casual style, queer-identified social worker, somatic movement therapist, academic activist and social justice scholar Dr. Rae Johnson, engages in a relaxed down to earth conversation with CNHP Creative Arts Therapist officers of students’ association Creative Arts Therapists of Color, and adjunct professor at Drexel’s CNHP Creative Arts Therapies Department. Conversational animator, Tonibelle Che, Cats of Color and DEI Board member.
